Welcome to the Grand Rapids Torch Club
2012-13 is our 85th year!
The Grand Rapids TORCH Club is a member of the International Association of Torch Clubs. Founded on May 22, 1928, our club was the 23rd club in the IATC. The purpose of the Torch Club is to provide a forum where people from a variety of professions can meet, enjoy good fellowship in a relaxed setting, inform each other, and expand each other's horizons. During our history members have researched and presented papers on their particular areas of interest. For more information about Torch Club click on the ABOUT tab above.
The Grand Rapids club meets monthly from September through May on the second Tuesday of the month. Meetings are generally held at the University Club in downtown Grand Rapids and begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour and dinner, followed by our program/speaker.
Free parking is available in the underground parking area of the Fifth-Third Bank building. Enter from Monroe across from DeVos Hall. Just tell the attendant you are with the Torch club.
Membership is not required to attend and guests are always welcome. There is a $28 meeting charge for members ($32 for guests), which includes the meal, and reservations are required. The social hour and dinner are an integral part of the Torch experience as they offer the opportunity for members and guests to become acquainted and share and exchange knowledge and ideas.
“TORCH offers its members a place where active minds can become more active. - Norris Paxton Torch International President 1955-56”
