Women's City Club houseThe Women's City Club of Grand Rapids is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. The Club started in the roaring 20's, survived the 1929 crash, the long Depression, WWII, the changing roles of women, and many other significant changes in our city and our culture. For 90 years it has been a center not only for social activities but for mental stimulus and gracious culture. Carol Dodge, past president and 30-year member, will share its rich history with stories and pictures. She has been a member of the WCC for 30 years and has a keen interest in the history of the Club and its historic Clubhouse (located at 254 Fulton Street) as well as in early Grand Rapids history. She has served on the Marketing Committee for over 15 years and on the Board of Directors of the Sweet House Foundation since its founding in 2005. She serves as docent of the Clubhouse and speaks frequently to groups in the city.
